Designer: Maja (Maria Lovisa) Arnadottir
InspIra started out as a fun, little father-daughter side project in the cold winter months of 2012 and expanded into a small product line which was showcased at Iceland's Design March in 2013.
InspIra's products are inspired by Iceland, designed by Maja, and manufactured by Maja's family in a workshop in Akranes town, called arTTré.
Each InspIra product draws its inspiration from Iceland, whether it be from Iceland's unique heritage, language, folk stories or the country's majestic landscape and nature. May the InspIra products inspire the beholder to connect with our island's rich heritage and landscape and tell stories of their own arctic inspirations and adventures.
Maja holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design along with an MBA in Business. Her prior experience includes designing commercial and corporate interiors, teaching and coaching.
Maja lived in the Arizona desert for 12 years before moving back to her home country in 2010. Moving from the vast desert to a small island in the Arctic ocean was quite the contrast and since being back "home" Maja has very much enjoyed reconnecting with her cultural heritage and the majestic nature that surrounds her everyday.
