OUR STORY

Designer: Maja (Maria Lovisa) Arnadottir

InspIra started out as a fun, little father-daughter side project in the cold winter months of 2012 and expanded into a small product line which was showcased at Iceland's Design March in 2013.

InspIra's products are all inspired by Iceland, designed by Maja, and manufactured by Maja's family in a workshop in Akranes town in Iceland, called arTTré.

Óðurinn til Íslands...

Innblásturinn minn...

Innblásturinn þinn...

Sagan mín...

Sagan þín...

Náttúran okkar...

Tungumálið okkar...

Þaðan skín fegurð þín og fegurðin mín.

Þurfum við eitthvað annað?

Each InspIra item draws its inspiration from Iceland, whether it be from Iceland's unique heritage, language, folk stories or the country's majestic landscape and nature. InspIra is an organic creation based on love and inspiration.

May the InspIra products inspire the beholder to connect with Iceland's rich heritage, energy and majestic nature and may these pieces inspire you to tell stories your own arctic inspirations.

Maja is an Icelander and a self proclaimed design geek who holds a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design from Arizona State University. Maja lived in the Arizona desert for 12 years before moving back to her home country, Iceland in 2010 where she stayed for a decade.  Moving from the beautiful and vast, burning hot desert back to a quaint, cold but majestic little island in the North Atlantic ocean proved to be quite a contrast. After Maja came back "home" she very much enjoyed reconnecting with her cultural heritage, language, folklore and majestic landscape.

InspIra is Maja's Icelandic Inspiration and an ode to her beloved... Iceland.

May you too feel inspired with these simple yet meaningful items in your surroundings.
